A local Pharmacist and Community Activist, the late Bill Maher, established the memorial to pay tribute to local War Veterans and outstanding Citizens within the East Peoria and Washington communities. Bill Maher paid for the memorial and up-keep of the site out of his own pocket. Since Bill Maher’s passing in 2007, the memorial has received very little attention and is in dire need of restoration.
